On March 21st, Sika China held a grand 20 anniversary celebrations at its headquarters in Suzhou. Government leaders from Suzhou Industrial Park Administration Committee, Deputy Consul General Switzerland, university professors, CEO of Sika Group, President of Sika APAC as well as about 200 important customers were present to witness this great moment.


Ms. Sun Yanyan, Deputy Head of Suzhou Industrial Park expressed her greetings for the great achievements Sika has made in China. In her speech, she said Sika China had established a firm relationship with the Industrial Park and hoped that Sika China would seize the opportunities to achieve greater achievements!


At the ceremony, Professor Qian Chunxiang from Southeast University presented to Sika China the award of “National Prize for Science and Technology Progress” issued by the State Council of China, in recognition of Sika’s great contributions to the project New Technology and Application on Concrete Crack Prevention at Different Ages led by Professor Qian.


Ms. Anne Mattei, Deputy Consul General Switzerland in Shanghai, emphasized the importance of the relationship between China and Switzerland in her interview. She said Sika has set a good example of Swiss enterprises in China. At the same time, she expressed her gratitude for the support and encouragement given by the local government for Sika.


Mr. Jan Jenisch, CEO of Sika Group,said in the media interview: “Sika is an innovation-driven company and around 5% of the global workforce work on R&D. Sika has synergy and benefits from the labs all over the world. For example, products developed in China can be used in other countries as well. We develop new products, new ideas everywhere.” Mr. Jenisch also looked into the investments in the west of China.


On March 24, Sika will start a national roadshow to present its representative projects in China in 7 cities like Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Suzhou.
